The memory problems are pretty normal for being on pain killers and post
anesthesia. I didn't remember much after my first lap.
The fact that you are having trouble peeeing really caught my attention.
Do you feel like you have to go and then sit down to do it only to have
a little trickle come out and then feel like you need to go again later?
That is what happened to me after my last lap. I went on like that for
a couple of days before going to the doctor. I couldn't pee and I was
in a lot of pain (i didn't realize the pain was from my bladder). It
turned out my bladder was paralized from the belly distention (gas) and
from the trauma to the area. I was retaining urine...essentially your
bladder doesn't contract to push the urine out and it keeps building up.
When I got to the doctor they had to drain 4 cups of urine out of my
bladder. So, they emptied my bladder and put in a catheter that I had
to have for a couple of days until my bladder recovered. I felt SO MUCH
better after that. If that sounds like what is going on with you I
would call and insist that the doctor see you.
Good luck,
Alyson
