Rhonda,

I definitely think pregnancy and breastfeeding helped with my adenomyosis and is partly why I decided to have a third child. Funny story: I told my doctor 8 months postpartum that I was not interested in sex (had been exclusively breastfeeding for a total of 8 months and then added some solids and nursed for almost 4 years). She said I think I know why. "Well, if I took a picture of your vagina and a picture of a 70 year old's vagina and showed it to some medical students they wouldn't be able to tell the difference." OK I actually don't mind my doctors sense of humor, but the point being I had very little estrogen running through my body with the exclusive breastfeeding. If your periods haven't returned following a lap, consider it a blessing for now. I wish mine would never return. I also had an emergency c-section due to toxemia with my first (have 3), the two others were v-bacs and no toxemia. There is a really good diet called the Dr. Brewer Pregnancy diet which I used to give to some of the women in my breastfeeding group. If you google it it should come up, but I'll try to find a link for it. The diet supposedly reduces your chances of toxemia by 90%. Also toxemia is generally common in first pregnancies but can occur with different husbands which isn't your situation. Stress is a big toxemia factor as well. I know in my first pregnancy I was very stressed because I was only 21 and wasn't sure if I was ready. Felt much more secure in the next 2 pregnancies.

For hormones you may want to look into natural progesterone oil or just natural progesterone creams that do not have parabens in them. Those should help somewhat when your periods come back as I noticed you cannot take hormones. Did they say if progesterone only pills could work for you? Hope some of that helps.

Wishing you all the best,
