Hi Jennifer,

Yes, it is possible to have a yeast infection and not know it. Usually when I get a yeast infection I know by the color of the area of my vulva where the clitoral hood is and it will be white. And if I can wipe it off it's yeast.

But sometimes a yeast infection can cause one to bleed as well. I had that happen once. I've also had a yeast infection along with a completely different kind of infection going on at the same time.

If you have an infection in your cervix, aka cervicitis (inflammation of the cervix) it can cause bleeding. I just had a major issue with cervicitis the past two years and my dr did a cryotherapy (where old skin in the area is freezed off and allowing new skin to grow) in the hopes that this will help that problem.

Lori, you mentioned that you use Diflucan to get rid of your yeast, have you ever been checked for other hard to treat yeast strains, in particular the T and C Glabarata? I learned about these strains on one of the vulvodynia lists I'm on.
