My friend had a hystorectomy several years ago. She didn't feel well and asked for a pap smear. Her doctor said no,also. She went to another doctor who said she didn't need one. She insisted on having one. The result came back positive. The doctor, with tears in her eyes, told her she had never seen a person with cancer after surgery. So, insist on having one. Statistically you should be cancer free. But, why take the chance. Good luck.
