Re: Endo & IBS pain & surgeryFrom: Lori (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Oct 28 23:37:32 2005
Welcome Jessica, I have had some ibs problems. Tried different diets until I found what foods worked best for me. Taking some meds for it also. I don't know that it is endo related, don't really believe it is. They did not find any endo inside or outside of my intestines. As far as the surgeries, I always felt better immediately after. The bad part was that I had to have surgery about every two years. Everyone is different. If they remove all the endo you should feel much better. What is your pain issue the endo or the ibs? I did read on one web site that endo can cause stomach bloating. But I have had endo for over thirty years and did not start having problems with my stomach until last year. My doctor retired and I refuse to have any more surgeries after that. So after about five times I was feeling good for at least ten years. He may have removed it all and that is why I have done so well. I have cysts now on both ovaries so I have yet to find out if it is endo. Good luck to you and find out all you can before you go in. There was some good advice a while back on doctors. Like what to ask and what to do before during and after surgery. I believe Sudsey responded to that post. There also was some discussions on ibs and endo which you can search back posts on. But, like i said everyone is different and being educated is the best thing you can do for yourself. Good luck. Lori L.
