Re: Looking for reliable place to get herbal remediesFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Oct 28 10:53:48 2005
I spent years working in the alternative health industry. You should ideally seek out a reputable naturopath and get your remedies recommended to you based on your specific needs. Many herbal products and supplements interact with medications, affect hormones and can thin your blood. Everyone thinks 'natural' equals 'safe' and that isn't always true. Check with friends, family, coworkers and see if you can find someone you can work with. Other than that, any health food store should be fine to buy your supplements from as long as everything is bottled and not sold loosely. Don't buy the cheapest supplement, but you don't have to buy the most expensive ones either - anything midprice will be fine. Like any therapy you choose, you should know what you're taking, why you're taking it and what the possible risks are to it. Don't necessarily believe the person behind the cash register no matter what 'qualifications' they may have and do your own research. It is important to educate yourself as much as possible.... Good luck in your search. Many women have found some relief in using alternatives and I hope it is a positive road to healing for you :)
