Lesley, It can come back. I had my first lap in August '04. My doc said she got all that she could find. I never had a day's relief from the pain following the surgery. I finally sought a second opinion and he did a lap two weeks ago. Not only did it come back, but with a vengence. I had been on Seasonale between the laps. My new doctor suggested that at some point if I don't want kids and am not ready for a hysterectomy that I could have an endometrium ablation. That would mean using the laser to destroy the lining of the uterus so that I would never have a period again. He said that he has had success with that. I did not investigate it any further because I am not ready to go that far. It may be something you can ask your doctor about. I kepp passing out this web address that Val posted...http://www.morehead.org/wellconnected/000074.htm You may want to check it out for information about other treatment options. Alyson
