Re: Endo + Cystic Ovarian Disease- Has anyone had kids with this diagnosis? From: Alyson (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Oct 13 14:55:41 2005
I don't have kids and am not currently trying to, but I do have polycystic ovaries and endo. I was just talking to my doctor about this though. It seems that the biggest issue with polycystic ovaries is ovulation...many women need to take something to essentially force ovulation. It can take awhile to conceive for some. My mom has PCOS and took 4 years to conceive me, but had no trouble with my brother and sister. Likewise a firend with PCOS recently had her second. The endo just adds another level of potential difficulty. My doctor seems to think the PCOS is just a bump in the road and if there end up being fertility issues it will likely be due to the endo. This is his opinion of course, so take that for what it is. There is an excellent web site that "Val" posted yesterday or today. You should check it out. It provides alot of information on the ways endo can contribute to fertility. I thought it was really helpful. Alyson
