Hi Kris, I have endo and IC and thought maybe I could give you some information. First of all, no IC can't be detected through a lap. You will have to see a urologist for that, and they do a cystoscopy to find out whether or not you have IC. A lot of urologists to the cysto and what they call hydrodistention in the same procedure, and the hydro is where they fill up the bladder with fluid and look in with a scope to see what happens when they do that. These procedures are like surgery, you are supposed to be put under b/c they are very painful procedures. However, many urologists are doing these procedures right in the office and not giving any type of meds to the patient. I had that happen to me, and it was the most horrible experience of my life, and if I had been put under it wouldn't have been so bad. I was urinating up to 40 times a day, and it was painful, and got even more painful when I got my period. Also, I have painful bowel movements. My gyno told me that is related to the endo because I have a lot of endo behind the uterus and underneath the tailbone that she could not get. Whenever I have a period the pain increases also. My gyno also found endo on my bladder, and she thought that after the lap I wasn't going to be having as many problems with my bladder as I did before. Well she was wrong. I don't think it's a bad idea that you go to see a urologist about IC because if you do have it, there are things you can do that will help decrease the pain and also avoid causing more pain. I have been researching endo and IC for months now, and if you have any more questions or need anymore answers, feel free to email me ... amarion22@yahoo.com Take care, Amanda At Sat, 8 Oct 2005, kris wrote: >
