Re: Ovarian cysts returned after lap two months ago???

I know from personal experience that ovarian cysts can reoccur after only a few months. This is my experience: In February of this year I had two cysts (one on each ovary) the size of grapefruits, removed via laparoscopy. In early May I went into the ER with severe pain in my pelvic area and I knew I had two more cysts, from my previous experience. Unfortunately, I was correct and I had a emergency laparoscopic surgery. (two cysts the size of softballs) Then mid July I went to my gyn again with the same pains I had previously when I knew I had cysts, but at this time I was seeing a specialist, and he confirmed I had two more very large cysts on each of my ovaries. Although, this time they recommended I have a laparotomy, to actually remove the cysts. Also during this last surgery they wrapped my ovaries with some tissue type substance to prevent adhesions.(my ovaries in all three surgies were adhered and removed from my pelvic wall) I also had endo lesions removed and they did a test to make sure my filopian tubes weren't blocked. (Thank God, they wern't) I believe in my first two surgeries they didn't actually remove my cysts, instead they just drained them. In my last one they actually removed them and sent them to pathology to test for cancer. They came back negative. I have been pain and cyst free since then and pray that I stay that way for awhile. I hope this helps to answer your question. Take Care. Angela T
