I am making a personal decision to discontinue lupron injections instead of receiving my fifth monthly shot. I have agonized over my options but my husband and I have decided that, regardless of consequences to fertility, the side effects of Lupron are too much for me for me to handle - it is literally, and acknowledged medically, driving me crazy. In addition to struggling to overcome the psychological instability, various physical ailments it has caused have made me sicker, weaker, and in more pain than I had from endometrosis itself. I don't know how much more I can take. At this time, I am just trying to find out what to expect as my body adjusts to regular hormonal functioning - a family physician indicated that I might experience withdrawal symptoms. In addition, I am currently taking nine prescription drugs, four of these will also be discontinued at this time because they are treatment for LUpron side effects. My next injection is scheduled for October 9th and I really need to know what to expect. Thanks for any information that you can give me!
