Re: Any suggestions for weight loss and endo? From: kristina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Oct 4 23:38:10 2005
Taylor, I certainly sympathize. I am in the same boat. My only suggestion for you is to stay away from sugar and fat. Try to treat you body nicely by what you put into it - only healthy, fresh things. Soups are great - a crockpot is great! Very little effort. Also remember, while you are not feeling well, and being very physically inactive, your body does not need as many calories, so adjust. Also, try to just eat some saltine crackers before taking your meds. You usually don't need to eat a great deal, just enough to keep nausea away. You might want to find out how many calories you should be taking in for an inactive lifestyle, and work on keeping your calories at that. There are lots of websites that can help you calculate it. I am about 60 lbs. overweight, but at one time was 30 lbs. heavier. I have polycycstic ovaries and endometriosis. I actually eat very healthy, but I am convinced that all the hormonal craziness keeps my weight high. Of course, now that I am in such incredible pain, I basically have very little appetite, which is not great because that simply slows your metabolism down even more without exercise. PErsonally, I have reached the end of my rope and am having a hysterectomy in 1 month. I also understand that nothing sounds good. The only thing that sounds good is sugar free popsicles! Kristina
