Jennifer, I actually just had this conversation with my doctor this morning. I am scheduled for my 2nd laproscopy thursday. He is my 2nd doctor. My first doc was not very agressive (at all) with the surgery and only causterized the lesions. I have since learned that's just about the most ineffective thing you can do and my endo has advaned like wild fire since then. This guy is going to go in with a CO2 laser and zap them out. Anyway, to the point, I asked if he could evaluate my chances of getting pregnant while he was in there and explained that my hubby and I aren't sure we want to- and if we do, definately not now. He said that there is no way to be able to tell how fast things will progress, that each person is different. He can evaluate the condition of my ovaries and tubes, but that they don't necessarily have to have endo on them in order for endo to cause infertility. He then said that there is data showing that your best chances of getting pregnant with endo is within 4-6 months following a lap. Not that I have to make that decision in the next 4-6 months, but that in the future that would be the best way to time trying. I'm really struggling with this one right now too. My husband and I are not even sure we want kids, definately don't feel ready right now....and I am feeling thoroughly frightened at the thought of this ticking clock that could make the decision for me (if it hasn't already). Hope some of that helped... Alyson
