Re: Have had enough-ruining my life, requesting hysterectomy

Just wanted to throw this out there...When I was at my pre op appointment yesterday my doc asked me if I wanted to condsider and endometrium ablation. That would be complete distruction of your uterine lining, i.e. no more periods. I guess if you believe in the retro grade bleeding theory that would be a good option to consider. It is permanent (no possibility for pregnancy) but not so extreme as a hysterectomy. I declined the proceedure because I'm not quite ready to go there...so I don't know that much about it. Maybe something to look into as an alternative to hysterectomy??? Alyson
