Reply: JENN: "Re: PERIOD FOR TEN DAYS NOW!" I started my period last Sunday (Sept. 11) I have been taking estrostep (birth control now) for 23 days. My doctor told me I could take it the following sunday because when I had my lap my preg. test was negative. And he said there was no need to take another test or wait until I start my period. I have been on my period for ten days now. I thought birth control was supposed to make your periods shorter. After the normal 5 to seven days I feel like something might be wrong. When I stand up sometimes, I can feel the flow coming down. So I consider the flow heavy. Today (Tuesday) makes it day 10. Before I was even on the pill my period lasted about 5 days... not even 7.
