alternative treatment questionFrom: holly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Sep 17 16:05:04 2005
my doctor mentioned trying acupuncture for endometriosis. well, i went for my first appt wednesday. i was feeling good all day wednesday, but after teh appt, i started having pain at the needle sites. the pain just built and built to where it felt really bad by late evening. i had a hard time gettign to sleep even because of it. is this normal for acupuncture? i thought it was supposed to be painless. instead, i felt worse than i did after my excision lap. the pain was in the same spot where endo was excised, but it was really really bad compared to what i felt then. i'm probably not doing acupuncture again, but i did buy some herbs while i was there. is it okay to just use the herbs and hope for the best? i also have interstitial cystitis and am worried the herbs will cause bladder flares. i've been having some bad ones the past few days, but i'm trying to narrow it down to something i ate or drank maybe. *sigh* i guess i really don't have a question. just needed an opinion on this. the actual treatment didn't hurt. it was definitely uncomfortable, but it wasn't painful. it started hurting about 15-20 minutes after the treatment. and the pain lasted about 8-10 hours. is this normal?
