Crystal,

You go girl! I think there are very few doctors that actually understand us, and if we're lucky enough - we find them. I did, and I thank God for him!

As far as Lupron is a shot, sometimes once every 3 months, sometimes once every month (like I am on) it works to manage endometriosis by lowering hormone levels. It is this lowering of hormone levels that decreases endometrial growths and provides symptom relief. It doesn't always work for every woman. I've been lucky enough for it to work on me. But others in here have had no luck. Some have had some pretty severe side-effects from it. I had some hot-flashes but I was put on add-back therapy. Since treatment with Lupron lowers hormone levels, during treatment with Lupron some may experience side effects such as bone density loss and hot flashes. From day one of therapy, your doctor can help decrease these side effects by prescribing Lupron with add-back therapy.

Add-back therapy is a pill (I'm on Aygestin) that adds back low levels of a hormone without interfering with the effectiveness of Lupron. It's done wonders for me with the hot-flashes. I also take a multi-vitamin along with a calcium tablet too (due to the fact that Lupron has been known to assist in bone density loss.

I hope you have pain free days!!! >>>HUGS<<<<
