Re: Another useless doctors appointment

I know what you guys are going through. I've been to so many gynos I've
lost track. My first gyno told me I didn't have endo when I was 19. My
symptoms fit endo and the sonogram woman wondered why my dr. wasn't
calling it endo, even after my first lap. My next dr. put me on the
pill and I had miserable side affects from it. That dr. wouldn't give
me painkillers b/c "you can't be having pain b/c you're on the pill." My
next dr. performed my 2nd lap and said I had stage iv. My ovary was
stuck to my fallopian tube and it was the most moderate case he had ever
seen in someone so young (24). However, during the surgery he didn't
stitch me up properly and I was bleeding internally and needed a blood
transfusion. My next gyno told me "you had 2 surgeries. They obviously
failed so you'll just have to learn to deal with the pain." (And this
was a woman!) The next couple of drs. wanted to put me on lupron which
I was against. It's your only option."
I did my own research and have found that drinking water helped the pain
between periods. I went to my current gyno asking for seasonale. So
far it's been like a vacation from endo. So far my current gyno seems
to be knowledgeable and sensitive about my endo. She said when I'm
ready to have children she'll recommend me to a fertility dr. and not
an endo dr. Her reasoning is endo drs. care about removing endo, but
not necessarily about helping women become pregnant. My point is do
your reasearch, and keep changing drs. until you find a good one.
They're difficult to find, but they are out there.
Peace.
