deciding to do a lap

From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)

I am almost 28 and my gyn recently told me that I likely have endo. I have painful and heavy periods with clotting. My menstrual cramps last approx 5 to 8 days per month. I also experience severe nausea during menstruation. I don't have pain during intercourse and I am not in constant pain like many on this board. I also have a small cyst on one ovary.

My question is that I want to have children and my partner and I are pretty ready to start trying in a year or so. Should I go ahead with the lap or delay it until after I know whether I am fertile or not? I know that there is no clear answer to question but what are the factors that I should consider in making my decision?
