Re: nutritionFrom: Alyson (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Aug 26 10:04:31 2005
Hela- I haven't used nutrition as my primary treatment, but have made some changes to my diet. I was seeing an accupuncturist for quite awhile and made some dietary changes based ontheir advice. They believe that for reproductive issues you should keep your body warm. No iced drinks, ice cream, raw foods (i.e. salads, raw veggies, etc), i drink a ginger tea which has calming properties. I did notice a difference in the frequency of my pain. I think its jkind of the same concept as using a heating pad to ease the pain. I also have cut fried foods and fatty foods out of my diet and have tried to eat all natural healthy meals (although I cheat from time to time!). I'm not sure how much difference it makes in the endo, but I feel better in general. The Endometriosis Association lists some books having to do with treating endo with nutririon by eliminating wheat and coffee among other things. You may want to check that out. Alyson
