Hi Sky, If it is IBS there are a few way's to settle it down from both my experiences and my sisters. I have the constipation version so I tend to have to take alot of drugs to make myself not so bunged up. My Girlfriend has just the diarrhea and she found that metamusal(spelling) helped a great deal. As for the stomache problems there are a few things that can help aliviate the pain...(keep in mind this is all second hand knowledge) stop eating anything with fat, spice, acid. This means no pepper, tomatos, fat on your meat, ect. Try for a week or two just a carb diet. White potatos, white bread ect-try to even lay off coffee, caffinated tea, meat, friut and veggies to let your tummy rest) As well, visit your nearest health food store and pick up Peppermint pills(my sister swears by these) and peppermint tea. Take a peppermint pill just before you eat and drink plenty of peppermint tea(you will also have great breath:)) After a week or two you will have to start introducing real food back into your diet and depending on how sevear your IBS is you may have to stay entirely away from fat/spice/acid. But if you introduce these back gently and slowly you my find a lot of foods you can eat if prepared properly. I hope this helps a little. Oh and like Endo it is really hard to find a Dr who know's much about this or is willing to help with this. My sister faught and changed Dr constantly for almost 8 years before she found a specialist who knew about IBS and was willing to work out a treatment plan with her.
