Diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis Today

Hi all, I am having a very bad and painful day as I saw the urologist this morning and had something done that did/is causing me a great deal of pain. I went in for urodynamics and cystoscopy, well turns out they couldn't get the scope in because my bladder wall would not expand. To make a long story short, they filled up my bladder to the point that I thought I was going to die, then dilated it, then got the scope in and found that I have the worst case of interstitial cystitis they have seen in a girl my age, 25. The uro said that the IC could be what is causing me the pelvic pain and also pain in rectal area. So he told me to take some tylenol and I will be better in 48 hours. He told me he does not prescribe pain meds to people my age, as I should be able to deal with the pain. So far this day has been horrible for me trying to deal with pelvic pain as well as the feeling of having to urinate ALL THE TIME. The doc also said he did not find endo but that doesn't rule it out. I am going to see a new gyno today, if I can get myself moving. It seems like things are going in the right direction so far, although dealing with the pain has been the most frustrating as we all have lives to live. Thanks for the advice and I hope all of you are doing well and you all are in my thoughts and prayers:) I will keep you posted on what I find out with the gyno, until then I'm playing the waiting game. Hugs to all of you...amanda
