Re: menstrual pain after laparoscopyFrom: Alyson (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Aug 19 10:21:06 2005
Jo Ann, Sorry for the delay, I hope you see this posting. I am also sorry to say that I had my laproscopy a year ago this week. My first period after the lap was horrible and every one since has been terrible. I was also having the same stabbing pain immediately after the lap that I had periodically prior to the surgery. The doctor also attributed that to recovery. My endo was not nearly as extensive as yours. I had lesions on my utero sacral ligament and all over the front of my uterus, but no ovarian issues or adhesions. Since I kept complaining of the pain my doc put me on Seaonale in hopes that less frequent periods would help. The chronic pelvic pain has not subsided (in fact its getting worse) and the periods are still excruciating. I take naproxen and percocet as sparingly as possible in the weeks leading up to my period, but rely on them both pretty heavily during that. I don't want to freak you out, so I'll say again...I'm not entirely convinvced that it isn't the Seasonale that is agrivating the problem. I am going to see a new doctor next week. I'm hoping that if I try a new pill things might be a little better. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Alyson
