Re: Vaginal bleeding after bowel movements

I noticed a newer post on this topic (Kris) and wanted to also respond
even though the original post is a couple years old.
I experience this on a regular basis. I was diagnosed with endo 10
years ago with my first of three laps and was told then that the endo
had caused part of my bowel to get stuck to my uterus. This was freed
up in surgery and is always found again with each lap.
The first time I bled vaginally from a bowel moevement it scared me and
I mentioned it to my Doc. He suspected it was just due to the endo and
told me not to worry. I did not experience any other odd bowel or
stomach issues, other than some nausea that just comes from endo. A
couple years ago I was seriously considering hysto and my new Doc
insisted that I have a colonoscopy to rule out any other cause for the
bleeding. (I decided to not do hysto and had instead my third lap last
summer). The colonoscopy showed all to be normal so now I know for sure
that the endo causes this bleeding. I notice that it doesn't happen for
awhile after a lap because I have been "cleaned up" inside but always
comes back. I also experience a lot of rectal pain and really notice it
after sitting or riding in the car for a long time.
Just wanted to reply that in my case it was due to endometriosis.

>I've noticed that the last post on this subject was over a year ago, so I don't know if anyone will read this. I went to my doctor a few months ago complaining that I was making myself bleed when I would bear down for bowel movements (vaginally, not rectally). The discharge would be pink tinged in the begining of the month and gradually become bloodier until I started my period. I also complained that I was experiencing constipation, bloating and prolonged heavy bleeding with my period (my period is three days of heavy bleeding and spotting up to 7 or 8 days) My doctor described my uterus as being "bulky" and had me go for a pelvic us. It was a month wait between the doctors appt and the us, so of course I was a mess. I thought I had endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, PCOs that had turned into cancer, etc. After all was said and done the final radiology report said that I had a 1 cm fibroid in the anterior part of my uterus. Everything else looks ok. Just thought I'd post this info so other women experiencing the same symptoms that I did don't go through the same torture I put myself through while I was waiting for my us.
