Re: 25 in FLFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netMon Aug 8 02:21:12 2005
Hey Vicki...just some advice I would like to pass along...first off keep your head up it does get better. Your still fairly new to all of this...the great thing is you found this site. You'll find that we all have the same story...mine is some what the same as yours...I was diagnosed in Nov of 03...I'm 24 going on 25 this Sep.I was terrified at first, now I've accepted it. I've taken the same meds...the Lupron is hell but stick with it...there are success stories from it...the hot flashes are horrible especially waking up at night drenched...look on the up side you won’t have to buy a winter wardrobe. I was a fire fighter... and had to leave my job because I didn't have the energy anymore to perform...before leaving I got a desk job and I couldn't hang there eaither because I had memory loss with the Lupron... someone would tell me something and it wouldn't get done because I would simply forget or just be so spaced out that it didn't register. I was wearing a size 7 four about 8 years and within two months I jumped up to a size 11...gaining that much weight is very depressing...One thing about the gym...you'll be back...by my... I'm gonna say forth month of Lupron I was back in the gym and running about 5 miles every other day. Life slowly but surly began getting back to normal...but I had adjusting to do...I have IBS and Interstitial Cystitis...a lot of times people with ENDo will say "it's not IBS it's the ENDO"...there are a lot of IBS books out there, if you pick one up which I recommend, you'll see that the symptoms you have are the same as what you read. There is a lot of helpful information in those books. Watching what and how you eat believe it or not makes a huge difference. I just had my second Lap about two weeks ago... they found that I have a blocked fallopian tube and confirmed the interstitial cystitis…they also found some grows which I'll be getting the results back soon I hope...I'm sure you've realized that your life will be different from now on...The most important thing is to not let it get you down, and one thing that I have learned is don't jump to conclusions, cause they'll only make it worse...remember too that your stress levels are going to affect how your IBS is doing. It's just crazy because I feel alone most of the time when I get sick, like no one knows what I'm going through...then I come on here and it's my life being repeated over and over in people like you....and one thing that makes me feel better is telling someone that it's going to get better...there are to many of us that spread our scary stories and freak out the people that are new here...There are times when it will be extremely hard to deal with but be positive. Don't let the ENDO run your life, be strong and rest when you need it and take advantage of the days that you don't need to.
