Middle of the night pain

Hi all, I am experiencing the worst of my pain in the middle of the night. I wake up at 5am every morning to go to work, and this pain has been consistently waking me up at around 2am for the past week. Anyone else having this problem?? I was put on Elavil to take at bedtime to help with the frequent urination at night, and in the beginning it was working excellent, now it seems to not work at all.

I am off for vacation to New Jersey today and the Monday I get back I go in to see the urologist for the cystoscopy, they are doing another test also which makes it a 2 day procedure. Hopefully I get some answers. The uro I am seeing now was recommended to me by a friend who has both interstitial cystitis and endo, and she said he was excellent. This one is treating me the most as if I am one seeking pain meds. But the only other urologist in my area doesn't like women and blows them off as if nothing is wrong, as I have heard this from many people. The nurses at the uro's office I am seeing now however, are extremely nice and understanding. I am going to go thru with the procedure with him and then look for a gyno to see for a lap.

I have read a little about the lap procedure, and it sounds like a big deal and I am very scared. Anyone have any information on how bad/good/painful it is and how long it takes to recover from it??

Thank you all again and I will keep you posted as to what happens at the uro.
