Re: Anyone have SI joint ,and Tailbone/Butt pain from Endo? From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Aug 2 12:29:43 2005
Hi Tracey! I haven't been on the forum for awhile and am trying to catch up today. Your message sounds like me. I have terrible lower back pain and since I do go to a chiropractor on a regular basis, can only assume it has to do with my endo. I personally think that the endo is effecting nerves in my lower back, which in turn makes the pain shoot into my legs and hips. I have noticed that when my endo is acting up, my back pain is excruiating. I often get what feels like menstrual cramps in my back, but only when experiencing other endo symptoms like spotting, etc. I have several good friends with endo and they complain of the same thing. My Doc also tells me that many times endo pain is "referred". Example: My right ovary area always hurts, but not my left. Yet my right side is fine (have had three laps) and the left side is in bad shape. He says the endo on the left can be causing "referred" pain on my right side. Maybe pressure on a nerve or something. I think my back pain is caused by this too. I also have lots of butt and tailbone pain, but I know that I have endo in my bowel area and that seems to cause the tailbone pain. The tailbone pain for me is one of the worst things about endo. The pressure of sitting for a long time or riding in a car can cause me to hurt and spot for days. During all of my laps, they have had to free up my bowel and uterus because they were stuck together. This may be what is causing your tailbone pain too. Sorry to ramble but I wanted to respond and let you know you are not alone. Hang in there! Hugs! Amy Meyer
