Re: progesterone injection concernFrom: Weebs (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jul 27 15:27:12 2005
Hi Leah While I've never had a progesterone shot, I have had many other shots into the muscle. Sometimes the swelling afterwards is great, sometimes it is hardly noticable. It usually disappears within a few days to a week for me. Everyones body is different and heals different. I was once told by a nurse that the best way to help the injection site is to massage it with a warm cloth. I was also told that tensing up the muscle during injection can lead to more pain at the injection site. I know it is very hard to relax when a needle is being shoved in your bum, but it does help. -Angel
