I started my periods at a young age and i have always had a lot of pain. i was put on the micro pill to try and relieve the pain at the age of 11. in Feb 04 i was admittad to hospital with severe abdo pain and a swollen lapia. since that date i have undergone many tests including a laproscopy, mri scan and ultrasound scan and none of the tests have shown anything. many people i have spoken to who have endrometriosis have said that my symptoms sound just like theirs. My doctor says it could be and he is going to do a repeat laproscopy next year to see if anything else shows up. How long does it normally take for a diagnosis? I have been on pethidine for pain relieve but this does not relieve me of pain completely i have also been on anti-depressants and am awaiting counsilling. i am only 18 yrs and not knowing what is causing my pain is very distressing. I have been with the same partner for 3yrs and it is hard to lead a normal sex life as the pain is unberable during and after intercourse. I have DEPO injections which made me put weight on so i have noe been given the implanon to see if that will relieve my pain during periods. please help and tell me if you think it sounds like endrometriosis.
