I have increasingly painful periods, mostly toward the end and after my period. The pain is in my lower abdomen and mostly on the left side, but is also all throughout. The focus of the pain seems to be on the left side. When I have sex after my period, the pain is intense, especially on the left side. If it's not just after my period, intercourse doesn't hurt nearly as bad but I can still feel mild pain sometimes on my left side, when there is deep penetration. I also have diarrhea at the beginning of every period, and abdominal pain during urination and bowel movements during/after my periods. I've read that these are symptoms of endometriosis but everything I read says hte pain is before your period, and mine is the worst afterward. I also think it could be PID or a cyst...but I just had a baby four months ago and you would think that a doctor would catch at least some indication.... My abdomen is also very tender to the touch during and after my period and somewhat tender at all other times. While I was pregnant, I felt the same pain in my left side especially when the doctor or nurse touched my abdomen or during an exam but both my doctors said it was normal pregnancy pain. But now I'm not pregnant and I'm feeling the same sort of pain. . . . This is the first month that I've not been on birth control since I had my baby and I've heard that birth control actually lessens the pain so I hope this next period won't be unbearable... It wasn't the pill though. Anyway, I would appreciate some advice. I know I probably should see my doctor but we can't afford insurance so I'm really hesitant about that. I'm also worried that it's nothing and how embarrassing would that be to go all worried to my doc over nothing. I guess that would be better than something, though, huh? :) Thanks! ~Stephanie
