Re: No symptoms...endo???From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jul 20 13:17:38 2005
Hi Kelly. 1. No, your doctor can't tell from the ultrasound for sure that you endo. Sometimes, what they see is that the outlines of the pelvic structures are "fuzzy" indicating endo but the only way to diagnose it for sure is to have a laparascope so they can physically see inside. 2. It is more than possible to have endo with no symptoms at all. Many women don't have symptoms or sometimes they have symptoms and just accept them as "normal" for menstruating women. Having a cyst does not mean you have endo although your doctor would probably want to remove it if grows or doesn't go away after a few months. Cysts are quite common in menstruating women but they usually don't cause any problems and usually go away on their own. 3. It never hurts to get a second opinion - especially if you are being told that you need surgery. Good luck!
