Dear Sgt Humphries,

In reply to your wife's current possible endometriosis diagnoses. Before they can diagnose a person with endometriosis they have to physically go into a persons pelvic area to visibly see the endometriosis adhesions and burn marks. They typically do this by performing an in and out procedure called a laparascopy. The recovery time is usually a couple of days. This is done by making 3 to 4 small incisions in her pelvic region usually right before her pubic hair line and with small video cameras that they insert in these incisions they can get a good look at what is going on in there and remove the endometriosis. A good website that explains endometriosis and the different procedures associated with the disease is as follows: http://www.endometriosis.org. As far as fertility problems its not the endometriosis that causes fertility problems its the scar tissue, adhesions, and so forth from having endometriosis that causes problems with fertility as much sense as that makes. A good site to read for this would be http://www.ivf.com/endohtml.html. Endometriosis is very painful for some people and others they don't even notice they have the disease. It just depends on how the disease effects that particular person. Its so very rare to die from endometriosis but if left untreated and the endometriosis is severe you will most likely end up destroying your entire reproductive system. As to date there isnt a cure for endometriosis and they arent even sure how this disease happens. But they do have a few theories. God bless your wife and yourself. Hopefully you come back safe and your wife's endometriosis gets taken care of.

Sincerely Dia
