3rd lap within 13 months. PLEASE HELPFrom: Terrya (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jul 19 08:10:05 2005
Hi all, I'm 23 and was diagnosed with endo last june when i dad my 1st lap. I had a 2nd lap in december (not even 6 months later) and here i am, about 6 months later again, and in pain. I have finally found an endo/pelvic pain specialist in my area and after viewing my records, he doesn't feel like I have had a "real" lap to treat this so he thinks the best way to go would be to do another lap. This would be 3 in about 13 months time. As I mentioned before, I am 23 and I would still like to have children at some point as my fertility has not be compromised as of yet, but I am afraid that all the adhesions from multiple surgeries could start to cause problems. The dr. seems to think that I should deal with the endo pain now and deal with infertility later if it becomes a problem. I am enclined to agree with him since I do have 3 sisters, all who would be more than willing to be a surrogate for me if need be, but of course my ultimate wish is to be able to carry my own children. At any rate, I was wondering if anyone has had multiple surgeries and had children later and also if surgery with a different doctor (endo specialist) has worked better than previous surgeries. I look forward to hearing from you all. Thanks, Terrya
