Re: advice needed about surgery and pelvic floor physical therapy and other symptomsFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jul 18 00:53:58 2005
M, First off, if you are not comfortable with the idea of anyone but a dr sticking their fingers up inside of you then I guarantee that you won't be comfortable with the idea of PT. I had a dr try to tell me that I had pelvic floor spasm and that I should go to PT. I thought it was interesting though that she said that endo when it causes pain can cause the pelvic floor muscles to spasm for some women. I had told her that I would not do the PT and explained to her why I would not. Surgery with an experienced dr when it comes to endo offers the best chance of relief. There are some drs (and yes some of them are considered top specialists for endo) that think that endo can't come back and I feel that it can. One reason that I feel that it can is b/c it's already happened to me several times. Even if I were to go to the top specialists such as the ones in Atlanta (and yes I told my dr this) I know that my endo would come back. I would rather have my dr clean me out as is necessary from time to time. As for the pill, with the higher dose ones, I don't know what time you would have taken them as far as during the day but the way to deal with those side effects is to just take it at nite before you go to bed or with a heavy meal. With the lower dose ones just eat a spoonful of peanut butter every day to help with the bleeding. I wished that I would have thought of that a lot sooner when I was having issues with pills at the time. Where do you live hun? Maybe we can help you try to find someone more experienced with endo. Feel free to e-mail me privately any time. My e-mail is: sokokl@yahoo.com
