Re: Bowel Resection after endo..From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri Jul 1 02:40:45 2005
Thank you for sharing your story. I am going to have a regular exam and a rectal exam in about a week, depending on what the Dr. feels I will then probably be going in for a colonoscopy and then possible resection of the bowel. I have tried to research this a lot, and sometimes I wonder if my Dr knows what he is talking about, the only symptoms of bowel endo I have are the painful/frequent and sometimes loose stool on the 1st day of my cycle, I have no constipation or pressure/pain in my rectum but I know not everyone is different. I have read that you only need a resection done if the inner most layer of your bowel has endo and that is what would show up on a colonoscopy. I'm very scared I may have to do a resection but at the same time, researching it seems like I may not have to. All I know is that during my last exam my dr. felt something he thought could be endo on my bowel and whatever he was pressing on gave me sharp pains so I guess I'm just going to take it one step at a time, I haven't been diagnosed with endo but will be scheduling lap in the upcoming weeks. I'm glad to hear your surgeries went well and that you didn't have to have a resection done-I hope that drug your dr has you on continues to work!! Again, thanks for telling your story, I am trying to find out other ppl's experience with bowel endo and what they have went through. Take care!!
