Re: here for help with my wife. From: Valerie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jun 28 09:10:09 2005
My husband often feels the same way. The best advice I can give is to just be there for her. What I really like is to just curl up on the couch in the dark with my husband. He usually puts a movie in the DVD player to watch, and I just lie on him and sleep. It's hard to find the time to do that, since we have a two-year-old, but it's nice. It doesn't do anything for the pain, but it is very comforting. You have to understand that the pain is not your fault, and it's unlikely that you will be able to make it go away. On a similar note, it's not her fault, either, and she can't control it. Living with it tends to make me quite grumpy, and I do take it out on my husband quite a lot. He has learned to look past it and know that when I'm mean to him that what I really need is a hug. Good luck to you.
