Why wouldn't it be safe to find your own doctor?

The only considerations you need to have are:

#1 is this doctor board certified? In the US by ACOG, in Canada by SOGC, in the UK the RCOG - other countries also have their boards.

#2 does this doctor accept your insurance?

Is surgery is required then you need to find out how skilled your doctor is, up on the latest laparoscopic techniques? How many of this type of surgery has the doctor performed? What were the outcomes?

The no referral means that the doctor does not need referrals from another physician in order for you to be seen by him.
