Re: Poor libidoFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jun 20 14:27:50 2005
Hi, I've had low libido for years. They thought is was depression and put me on Wellbutrin, but that didn't help the libido. I kept asking drs. but none had any solutions or help. I was doing some research and read about natural testosterone cream for women and found a Dr. who knew how to properly prescribe it for women. It is the only thing that I have found that has helped and actually solved my libido problem. The Dr. did a blood test for free and total testosterone levels. My free testosterone level was .8 and women should have between 1 and 3. So my Free T level was slightly low. So my Dr. prescribed at 2% testosterone cream. This has to be made by a compounding pharmacy. If you call your local compounding pharmacy and ask them which Drs. prescribe testosterone cream for their patients you may find a good Dr. who can help you figure out if that is what you need. This only works if your FREE T levels are low. If yours are normal you may have some other problems. Low libido is a side affect of antidepressants and the birth control pill. So that is also something else to consider. I've also read that exercise helps increase your natural T levels and I have found that my libido was best when working out everyday. I would also recommend the book by Judith Reichman, MD titled "I'm not in the mood." It is all about women and libido issues. Excellent book! Good luck. I hope you figure out what your cause is. It took me so many years to figure out and it was just 1.5 years ago I finally found my problem/solution. The T cream works great!!! I finally feel normal again. Lynn
