Re: cent Lap, still having painFrom: Jessica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 10 16:05:16 2005
Hey Alison, I had almost the same exact symptoms as you did. After my 5th surgery, I had extreme pain that was in my lower abdomen, and radiating down my legs and up into the kidney area. My doctors were at a loss because they corrected everything they could find during the lap and thought there was nothing they could do. Then, my doc decided to try one more treatment. A steroid pack and muscle relaxers, and staying off my feet for a while. The justification behind this is that the surgery aggravated abdominal wall muscle tisse, and I have since been having muscle spasms. My doctor, during a vaginal exam, noticed that my levator muscle (muscle of the pelvic floor) was very "knotted," indicating spasticity. Anyway, just a short treatment of these meds made some difference for me. Try asking your doc if this is an option for you. Jessica
