Re: Anyone w/ endo or scar tissue on sciatic nerve? From: Vanessa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jun 9 19:35:59 2005
Hi Jessica, I have a similar issue as you and also have issues with my bowel and bladder. My last lap was spent trying the clean up the enormous amount of adhesions inside of me. I have seen specialist after specialist about these various issues I've been having and when I ask them if they think it could be endo or adhesions pulling on these sections of my body, I get the same response you do... It's possible but VERY rare. We all know it's not rare from reading this forum. I've seen many posts where people are told the same as you and me but then they are lucky enough to see someone who REALLY specializes in Endo and they find out they were right all along. What can we expect though? Most Gynes aren't even up to date on their endo knowledge so how can we expect specialists in other fields to take it seriously if Gynes don't? I know this doesn't directly answer your question but I thought it would be comforting for you to know that you are not the only one who experiences dr's dismissing the seriousness of endo and who are grossly misinformed. Aside from doing another lap to see where your (and my) adhesions are , I'm not sure if there's any way to find out for sure. I haven't had much luck with gynes and have yet to find one who I trust in their knowledge of endo. Most gynes I see offer me drugs, surgery and a hysto and dismiss all my other symptoms. I wish I had the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
