Sorry it took so long to write you back. When my husband and I had decided to start trying to conceive, my obgyn told me that my chances of ever getting pregnant were very slim. I had heard this since I was 18! I was 24 when we decided to start trying. Anyhow, my dr sent me to a fertility specialist. He's the one that told us to try for a year and if after that I still had not become pregnant, we would start Clomid. It was about 2 weeks later that I found out I was already pregnant. I think it was easier for me to get pregnant because at that point we weren't "trying" yet. A few years later we decided to "try" again to get pregnant. It took about 6 months before I finally did get pregnant. I did everything by the book to get pregnant, but I just couldn't. I finally threw my hands in the air and said forget it, we'll try again later. Lo and behold, I got pregnant the next month when we weren't trying. I feel very strongly that stress plays a very important role in getting pregnant. I know how anxious you can get trying every month. You do everything by the book and then sit back and wait to see what happens. I remember checking the toilet tissue everytime I went to the restroom to see if there was any blood on it. I would hope & pray that I wouldn't get my period. And then when I least expected it, I would start. Add on top of that the stess of trying to get pregnant, it throws your period out of whack and makes you even later. The only piece of advice I can give you from past experience is to try to stay calm. Don't stress out about it. Don't make it a mission to have sex just to get pregnant. Just have fun!! Trust me, after children, the chance to have fun, carefree sex pretty much goes out the window for many years! haha I hope that this tid-bit of info helps you somewhat. My heart goes out to you...but there's always hope!! Try not to get aggrivated and stressed out about it. That can wreak havoc on your body & make it worse. Keep your chin up and think positive. Take care!!!
