Re: Pregnency, Invitro, Insurance companies.From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jun 8 13:32:56 2005
I had a very similiar situation to yours. I went to a fertility specialist who told me to try for a year. If after a year of trying, then come back to see him. 2 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. Several factors can keep a woman from ovulating. One of them is stress. If you have doubts whether you are ovulating buy an over the counter ovulation kit. Also keep a calender of when your last cycle was. Usually ovulation occurs 14 days later. This is not the case everytime though. There are actual months that a woman can ovulate more than once throughout her cycle so that gives you some more "time". My dr also told us to just have "sex". Don't try. Just have fun!! There's only a 24 hr timeframe in which ovulation occurs so timing is everything. My husband and I had intercourse everyday from the 10th - 20th day. Trust me...no complaints from him :-) I don't have an answer regarding invitro. Sorry!! Have you tried contacting your insurance company to see if it is covered? We have BC/BS and I know that invitro is not covered but this is something that varies from company to company. I wish you the best of luck!!! Take care
