Re: Vaginal bleeding after bowel movements

Hi Jacqui,
I too am experiencing something similar and I have no idea what's
causing it or what to do about it. I was also diagnosed with PCOS a
couple of years ago. After a while I started having HEAVY bleeding
which never seemed to stop for more than a couple of days at most. When
I had finally had enough, I went to the doctor, who ordered a pelvic and
transvaginal ultrasound.
The ultrasound found that one of my ovaries was roughly the size of a
large grapefruit from having cysts on top of cysts on top of cysts. I
had a laparotomy in July 2004 to have that ovary removed.
For a while, I didn't have periods, then in April I had what for most
women is a normal period. It started and then 5 days later stopped, and
I thought "Hallelujah! Normal, after all these years!" Well, I was
wrong.
I have now been bleeding off and on for a couple of weeks. In the past
couple of days, I have not been bleeding during the day, then I go to
the bathroom in the evening to have a bowel movement and suddenly bleed
vaginally, passing clots about the size of a dime. I can tell by the
feel that it's coming from my reproductive system, not my colon.
Needless to say, I haven't found hardly any info about this anywhere.
Have you had any success with finding more info? At least it's nice to
know I'm not completely alone, or the only person in the world that this
has happened to. I'd appreciate anything you (or anyone else out there)
can tell me.
