Re: Total Hysterectomy for EndometriosisFrom: Bev (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu May 26 09:02:20 2005
Lori Jean, I am sorry that you are still having problems since your surgery. When did you have it done? I am looking at having a total Hyst. also because of endo and Pelvic Congestive Syndrome. My Dr. told me that the hyst, is not 100% cure for pain related problems and endo. Did they hold off on giving you hormones? If you are now taking them are you taking/using bio-identical hormones? I have been reading and doing internet research on the hormone issues since I will be thrown into instant menopause at age 45. We checked all of my hormone leveels in Dec. and non were where they should be, so we are trying to use the natural/ compounded progesteron to balance things out and help with the endo until I decide. If you haven't read the book on natural hormones "What Your Doctor May Not Tell you about Menopause" By Dr. John R. Lee, I highly recommend it especially if you have had your overies taken out and are now dealing with menopausal symptoms. It is all based on scientific research that has been done. I find it extremewly informative. WE all need to be our own advocates!!!! My DR. encourages me to go online and research all that I can so that my decision is right for me. I am fortunate to have finally found a DR. like him. Write me direectly if you want to, Bev Dixon
