Hi Kara!

I am 29 and just had my 2nd lap in March. I saw an Endo specialist in Oregon this time so he removed the disease with excision instead of laser which is what I had last time in 1998 here in Alaska and I never got better, only worse over the years. I have been married for 10 years now and my husband and I would really love to conceive but aren't sure if it will happen. I have been PAIN FREE for a few months now, and it's the first time in 12 years that I've felt this good. Do you know how your doctor is going to treat the Endo during your lap? I'm so happy to hear that you also have a wonderful, supportive other-half! :) My husband is my bestfriend and I wouldn't be better today without his support and push to get me to a specialist. No one can tell you if you will be able to bear child but the known thing is that you need to be better and to be able to take good care of yourself before you'll be able to care for a child. Can you imagine having a child and trying to care for it in the pain that you are? It wouldn't be right. I don't mean that in a MEAN way either. I'm serious. I've wanted a kid for a long time now but have been so sick and in pain it's almost sad to think about a child having to witness it's mother going through all of that. Talk to your doctor. Maybe if it's really important to you after your surgery you could talk about fertility options. With my 1st lap my doctor told me the best chance for me to get pregnant would be with in the 1st 6 months after surgery. That didn't happen so here I am after my 2nd lap and pain free and still haven't been able to conceive. It could happen still I guess. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that you're not alone and that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that your surgery is successful and that you will have everything that your heart desires.
