2nd time aroundFrom: Kara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed May 25 16:14:56 2005
Hey everyone, I'm 31 years old and in about a month will be going through my 2nd surgery for Endo. I was devastated when I had to hear the words again... it was almost word for word.. "Due to the extreme pain, and tenderness, and the lack of movement with your uterus and ovaries, we would like to do a lap to verify if it's endometriosis." The pain is much MUCH worse this time than last. I've heard of so many stories with women who have had to deal with this so frequently, and that they have not been successful with bearing children. I have not had any children yet, and am nervously wondering if I ever will. My boyfriend and I have discussed it (the possibilities of not ever having one have come up in those discussions). I've been to the Emergency Room twice for severe pain, and they have given me shots of Morphine just to relax me. I've tried Hydrocodone and Tramadol for pain. It's unreal... this pain. My boyfriend has to be one of the sweetest men in the world though - he's there for me.. all the time.. during the painful days, and the days I can actually function. He does everything he can to make me smile again. I guess I'm wondering.. does anyone really know what the chances are of me ever being able to carry a child??? This is so frustrating to me. Not to mention I have had to wait 6 weeks from the time I was told about having surgery - and my actual surgery date. My doctor, Dr. Dulemba (Denton, TX) is supposed to be one of the best doctors around. I pray that everything goes well, and i'm hoping that someone out there can help boost my spirits a bit. Thanks for listening!
