Adenomyosis

I went to my post-op appt. today. The pathology report came back negative for endo which was great news. Right now I am playing the "wait and see" game to see if the endometrial ablation will work. My final results from the ablation will not become evident for 2-3 months since it will take that long for the endometrium to finish sloughing(?) off. My dr feels very strongly that adenomyosis is the culprit of my pain. The ablation will not work if I do indeed have adenomyosis. I am still in alot of pain which is discouraging, but I know that in a few months I'll hopefully be painfree either from the ablation or a hysterectomy. I have completed my family and am just ready to be pain-free. I have forgotten what it feels like! I have been seeing a gynocologist since I was 11 yrs old (I'm 30) because of painful and heavy periods.

I just want to thank all of the wonderful women who have given me great advice along the way & have offered words of encouragement when I needed it most. So far, I've been endo-free since 1993 which is great news. I feel that my chances of it returning at this point are very slim. Now if I can get rid of my nasty uterus I'll be a new woman! :-)

I am changing positions at my job so my time on the internet will be cut short but I will be checking in from time to time. I hope that each and everyone of you will have brighter and happier days ahead of you. And again, thank you for being there when I needed it most!!
