Need Advice:Endo, Spotting, Infertility Treatments... Frustrated!From: Mindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 24 14:17:37 2005
I’m 28 and was on BCPs for nine years. I’ve been off the pill for 1 year and 9 mos. After stopping BCPs I began spotting and having light bleeding during my luteal phase. Some months I have only had ten days where I wasn’t bleeding or spotting. In Sept. we had a miscarriage at week 8 (blighted ovum). In Dec. I began experiencing side pains, back pains, cramps, and upper thigh pains along with the spotting. Sex was painful with bleeding, light-headedness, and nausea. I was treated for cervicitis and found some relief with intercourse. I have had a pap, vaginal ultrasound, saline injected ultrasound, thyroid tests, and progesterone tests- all turning out fine. I am charting everything and the only thing my doctor knows for sure is that we are experiencing infertility. My husband was tested and everything was fine but his penetration test was only 4% (the lowest normal level). My new doctor is sure that I have Endo (my mother has it), but he wants to try three cycles of IUI with clomid before a Laproscopy. I feel that I should have the Laproscopy and try to conceive naturally for a while before IUI. Any advice or similar situation? I’m on an emotional rollercoaster. Thanks!
