Re: Home from surgery -- me tooFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed May 18 22:40:55 2005
Belina, I'm home from surgery too! I'm sorry your experience was so frustrating. I can relate, because over the past few years, every time I went in for a test, the doctor would say, "everything looks great!" Sometimes that would make me cry, and the doctor would of course think I was crazy. (Or so it seemed.) As much as I was glad that "everything looked great," it made me SO frustrated not to know what was going on. And to go through so much only to be told, "Looks fine." For me, the surgery did reveal a lot of endo, which the doctor removed most of. When the doctor told me about the endo as I woke up in the recovery room, I cried, this time out of relief. Relief that now I "know". I hope that you find your moment of knowing, too. Don't give up. Don't forget, too, that endo can cause pain in mysterious ways. Even microscopic endo can cause pain. How experienced is your doctor with recognizing endo in all its many shapes, textures and colors? Or, if it's not endo, still remember, you are not going crazy. If you have pain, you have pain, and don't let anyone invalidate your feelings or your knowledge of your body. It's time that women were no longer told by doctors, "Some women just have pain." You mentioned a D&C. I haven't been on the board for a while. Did you miscarry then? If so, I'm really sorry. I miscarried last spring, and it was very difficult. It's natural to be having a hard time after a miscarriage, so if this is your situation, go easy on yourself. Hang in there. -Anna
