Re: Home from surgeryFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed May 18 22:34:35 2005
Hi Belinda, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. I just wanted to share my story with you... a couple of years ago I started having horrible pain in my left side with ovulation and then it came with my period also. When the pain spread to my right side and was so bad I needed pain medication, my doctor ordered an ultrasound. They found nothing of course! I got pregnant shortly after and the pain was mostly gone. After I gave birth the pain came back and was worse than ever. My OBGYN did a lap and all he found was one long adhesion on my appendix. By then I had looked up all kinds of info on endo online and knew I had it. My symptoms continued to get worse and I started going to a pain mgmt clinic and started long acting narcotics. I did an internet search for "endometriosis specialist Portland Oregon" and it came up with an infertility clinic. I had a 2nd lap just 3-4 months after the first one and lo and behold.. I had stage 2 endo and it was in all the places I was having pain. Unfortunately having it lasered off didn't help...well, it did help the ovary pain but it made my bowel endo worse. I am still going to the pain mgmt clinic and am planning on seeing one of the doctors (Dr Redwine in Bend) who uses the excision method to remove endo this winter. It has been a hard road but I have heard many wonderful things about Dr Redwine's success rate (my husband's boss's daughter saw him 2-3 years ago and hasn't had any pain since) so I am living day to day until I make the trip. Fortunately I live only 3.5 hours away but it does cost quite a bit of money and I will miss 3-6 weeks of work so it's not something I can do right now. Anyway, sorry for babbling! I just wanted to let you know that you might still have endo and to trust your feelings. As you probably know, endo has many different appearances (color, texture, etc) and can hide in every nook and cranny in the pelvis and beyond in some cases. Feel free to email me any time, jakesmom_us@yahoo.com. Take care, Angie
